Rehab At Cedar Spring Farm

Cedar Spring Farm, in partnership with Burlington Equine Veterinary, has established itself as a premier equine rehabilitation center. Our staff has a longtime interest in equine preventative medicine, and our own show horses have thrived under their care by Burlington Equine’s Dr. Randy Frantz.  We would love to share our expertise with equines of all breeds and disciplines, whether they are recovering from injury, in post-operative care, or simply needing services to increase their conditioning and soundness. Dr. Frantz, an expert in equine sports medicine, shares our belief that proper rehab after injury and treatment is necessary for the long term success of the patient.

He excels as a diagnostician, and has numerous paths of cutting edge treatments available. Our staff at Cedar Spring Farm is fully trained in wound care, administration of medicines, massage, the use of therapeutic devices, and the care and handling of horses of all types.

Many trainers and horse owners are extraordinarily busy. Rehab for horses can be time consuming, inconsistent, and just plain difficult. These barriers can impact the success of expensive treatments, lengthen the recovery time and jeopardize the final outcome. Cedar Spring Farm has solved the problems faced by injured or recovering horses.  We are in the unique position to provide the dedicated and nuanced care that will insure the safe return to work for the equine athlete. In addition, EquiVibe whole body vibration therapy can be coupled with solar heat. Excellent for sore backs.

Our facility is superbly qualified as a rehab venue. It is heated in winter, fly free and cool in the summer.  The 18 by 250 foot paved center aisle is perfect for hand walking. We have an indoor round pen and 50 by 250 foot indoor arena which is ideal for returning horses to work.  There are four board oval grass paddocks for turnout and a large outdoor work ring.  In addition, there is a mile long outdoor track around the perimeter of our large pastures.  Finally, we are within 3 miles of Burlington Equine which can easily provide it services in a clinical atmosphere.

HORSE GYM USA® | SUN
The SUN is a solarium developed to help increase blood flow, circulation, and muscle elasticity. Our Horse Gym solarium 15IR lamp model will meet the need for treatment, healing, and drying. Infra-red (IR) rays from the SUN produce heat which enters the horse’s musculature and helps increase blood circulation to promote healing. The infrared light prompts the release of nitric oxide. This provides a boost in blood flow, bringing oxygen to injured, aching tissues and results in faster healing. The use of solarium prior to training relaxes the muscles of the back, benefiting the overall training process. All HORSE GYM USA equipment is built to exacting standards and utilizes the most advanced features for horse health, fitness, safety, and ease of use.
WHY SUN? Warm up and relax back muscles before training
Promote blood circulation and recovery after training
Quickly dry your horse in warm or cool weather
